American music prouder and DJ Mike Will Made It has been nothing short of a phenomenon in recent years.

From early beginnings producing beats for rapper Gucci Mane, Mike Will Made It Really hit his stride in 2012 producing a string of huge main stream rap singles.

‘Mercy’ (Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T and 2 Chainz), ‘Bandz A Make Her Dance’ (Juicy J featuring Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz) and ‘Pour It Up’ (Rihanna) were all Mike Will Made It beats.

It was actually Gucci Mane who was responsible for the Mike Will Made It producer name.

On the track ‘Star Status’ you can hear Gucci rap the following “Mike Will Made It / Gucci Mane slayed it / Star Status n**a everybody upgrade it.”

As with many producers who typically leave their producer tag near the start of their beats, Mike Will Made It is no different.

The first tag is self explanatory, however what is ‘Ear Drummers’?

Mike Will started his own production company in 2006 called EarDrummers Entertainment, so it makes sense that this would get a shout out on his tracks.

Ear Drummer Records (initially known as Eardruma Records) was later founded in 2013.

In this year they signed the group now known as Rae Sremmurd, who took this name when they signed to Ear Drummer Records.

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice Rae Sremmurd is Ear Drummers spelled backwards.

So that is the mystery solved. Although it may not sound like it, the muffled producer tag at the start of Mike Will Made It tracks is actually saying Ear Drummers.
